Leadership Practice:
During this program, I have worked on developing a leadership practice to brighten the days of young patients at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. While working with fellow UW Leaders Umbee Cho, we developed the plan to organize card-making in Red Square, so that all our fellow Huskies can participate! Umbee and I set up a table in Red Square every Friday of Spring Quarter from 1-3pm for each card-decorating event, in the hopes of collecting a significant number of uplifting cards to deliver to Seattle Children’s for their patients. This leadership practice is important to me because I have a huge passion for helping children, our future generations! I believe that a kind gesture can make a huge impact on someone’s day and create a ripple effect for more acts of kindness. In a time in their life when they are scared and unsure of the future, if a homemade card can provide a moment of brightness in their day, I will feel accomplished. During this leadership practice I hope to further develop my interpersonal skills and ability to reach out to others.
