Hi everyone! My name is Rosie Morrow-Okon and I am unbelievably excited to serve as Assistant Director of UW Leaders this year. The experience I had as a sophomore and leader in the program was undoubtedly the highlight of my collegiate experience thus far; I learned so many invaluable lessons about how to live, learn, and strive to become the best version of humanness that I can achieve. So I am very grateful for this opportunity to return for a second year and begin building our amazing community with Evelyn and our incredible mentors all over again, and soon with the next generation of leaders!
Outside of UW Leaders I am constantly reading, writing, and studying; I love being a student in the Honors program and balancing life as an International Studies major with premedical classes. I honestly love academic life and keeping myself open to new forms of knowledge and learning, so I am happy to recognize that my life’s journey probably includes staying in school until I’m ancient. My rare bouts of free time are spent showing prospective new Huskies around the university as a campus tour guide and teaching incoming Honors students about our program and community. Evelyn is an absolute vision and is introducing me into her world of music and hilarity, so 30 Rock quotes are constantly flying in our office and I have fully embraced my new role as Liz Lemon – you can guess who our Jenna is.
I was born and raised in Bellingham, WA so I am a PNW girl at heart. There is nothing I love more in this world than curling up with a book and coffee/tea on a rainy day, unless it’s hiking around Western Washington or skiing our beautiful mountains with friends and family. As I mentioned, I am incredibly thrilled for the opportunities this year will bring through UW Leaders, for everyone involved. For many people this program is life-changing (I can definitely attest to this) and the passion, creativity, and dedication of every member of our community is inspirational. I cannot wait to get started!
