Leadership practice:
For my sophomore year at UW, I knew I wanted to become more involved on campus and find something I was passionate about. I realized I really liked talking and interacting with people, specifically telling my stories and experiences about the UW campus. Through UW Leaders, I was able to motivate myself and gain the confidence I needed to go after positions that would allow me to explore this passion. I applied to be a UW Campus Tour Guide, Student Orientation Leader and FIG Leader and was accepted into all three positions. These opportunities have really allowed me to grow and test my leadership abilities, as well as letting me do the things I love. I am also working on uniting two of my other passions, medicine and music, by trying to volunteer my time playing piano for patients in hospitals around the area. This project is still in the works, but I hope to see it through and create something out of it.
