Greetings! My name is Julie and I’m a junior double majoring in Public Health and Sociology with a minor in Spanish. I was born in Colorado but raised in the smallish city of Lake Stevens, about 40 miles north of Seattle, and I’m a Pacific Northwest girl for life. I bleed purple and gold and am positively enamored with UW — one of the reasons for this being the incredible community that is UW Leaders! Applying to be part of UWL was one of the best decisions I made in my sophomore year and I am eager to embark on a new journey in the program this year as a mentor.
My involvement on campus this year includes co-presidency for the RSO Huskies for Suicide Prevention & Awareness (HSPA), which organizes the Out of the Darkness Walk in the spring, and peer advising with Undergraduate Academic Affairs, a “job” that I really love. Also, this past summer I had the unforgettable experience of studying abroad in Germany and Spain (Guten tag! Hola!). Then I came home for a month and did nothing but watch How I Met Your Mother and play with my family’s two new kittens. Needless to say life was pretty awesome this summer, but now I couldn’t be more excited to get back into the thick of things on campus. Go Dawgs!
