Year: Second Year
Major: Biology (Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental)
Hometown: Born in Boston, MA; Raised in Metro Manila, Philippines
Fun Fact: My hobbies include finding funny reaction gifs, quoting Spongebob, and discussing Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra episodes.
Leadership Practice: My life dream is to become a doctor and specialize in medical genetics! Until then, I plan to continue putting my heart and soul into being an intern for the ASUW Student Health Consortium and working as an undergraduate researcher at the Dunham Lab. As an SHC intern, I work with the rest of the team to promote health and wellness to everyone on campus, program events such as the Everybody Every Body Fashion Show, and create the monthly health newsletter. With the Dunham Lab, I study experimental evolution and observe gene expression of yeast cells in certain nutrient-limited environments. Working with the amazing human beings of SHC and the incredible individuals of the Dunham Lab has been such an enriching experience so far, and I’m really looking forward to learning and growing more as a leader and as a person as I continue working with all of them throughout the year.
