Mentor Mitch Aman, 2016-2017

Mitch
Hey buds! My name is Mitch (they/them pronouns), and I’m a junior double majoring in Political Science and Law, Societies, and Justice (LSJ). After undergrad, I’m planning to attend law school (crossing my fingers for UCLA) to study civil rights law. Then, when my mid-life crisis hits in 20 years, I’ll probably go to culinary school to hone the skills I’ve picked up from the Food Network™ (Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen are my favs). One of the tasks on my bucket list is to visit every Seattle restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (Guy Fieri is bae). Speaking of food, I have my fingers in multiple pies here on campus- my involvement includes serving as a FIG Leader, Dawg Daze Team Captain, member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, writer for The Daily, ASUW Senator, Student Services employee, and UW Leaders mentor (obviously saved the best for last). I’m incredibly honored to have this opportunity to continue my involvement with UWL because during my time as a leader, the program had a massive impact on my professional, academic, and social development. This year, I’m excited to be a part of that development in the new leader cohort!
When I’m not working with my UWL peeps, studying for classes, or cooking, you’ll probably find me at the IMA, spending time with family and friends (community is VERY important to me), or hiking around the beautiful PNW. Hit me up if you want to go adventuring together! I’m pumped to meet you all! 🙂
