Fun Fact: Last summer, I participated in the Summer Institute for Arts and Humanities, an intensive undergraduate research program. I researched race, disease and immigration law. Rosie and I were named Mary Gates Scholars and are scheduled to present at this year’s Undergraduate Research Symposium- come check us out!
Leadership Practice:
For my leadership practice, I will reflect on my journey as a lonely student to an engaged community member and the leadership skills I have acquired throughout the process.

I am deeply invested in the residential life here at the University of Washington. As the Director of hall council in Haggett Hall, I have learned about myself as a leader, a student, and a community member.

Through programming and working with my executive board, I have learned interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, time management, and so much more. Not only have I gained valuable skills, I can better articulate my values and passions because of my time with hall council. Hall council has been such a lovely home to me, I’ve made it my personal goal to share the same warm, fuzzy feelings to all students living in residence halls. While working towards this goal, I’ve realized I gain happiness and energy from building community, welcoming students and helping them succeed.

Upon discovering this passion, and gaining important skills, my leadership practice will not be complete without reflecting on my goals for my remaining time at UW. How will my new skills translate into my academics, extracurricular activities, and personal life?
